Wednesday 13th: Monmouthshire Botany Group’s Botany Walk , aquatic plants ID day at Magor Marsh

Monday 18th: Fungi expert Roger Evans gives a talk on fungi at Monmouth’s Shire Hall, 7pm to 9pm, free entrance. A Gwent Wildlife Trust local group event, details on their web site

Wednesday 20th: A Celebration of Welsh Wildlife through Art at Gwent Wildlife Trust’s AGM.  The Ballroom Glen-yr-Afon House Hotel, Usk. AGM at 7pm, with presentations from local artists and poets from 7.30pm, as well as the announcement of winners of GWT’s photographic competition. Free entry, details on their web site

Saturday 28th & Monday 30th: Family Events at Magor Marsh, Gwent Wildlife Trust’s half-term events include Autumn Fun Day on Saturday (1pm to 4pm, £2 per adult, children free) and Marshy Monday (1pm to 3pm, adults free, children £2) with pond dipping, trails, crafts and wildlife exploration.

Tuesday 31stMMG Autumn Get-together at Usk’s Centenary Hall.  The meeting will feature a talk from Dr Rupert Perkins of Cardiff University on meadow butterflies, followed by a buffet supper and social. More details and a booking form

Botany Walks: The programme is provisional as some venues may be changed. Days start at 10am continuing until about 3-4pm.  All days are for helping to improve ID skills and recording for Atlas 2020.
